Etsy fees in Germany: what a shop in Germany pays on one order
For a shop with a German bank account, Etsy's payment processing fee is 4% + €0.30 per order, and Germany is not on Etsy's list for the regulatory operating fee. The example takes one order in euros, fee by fee, and you can try your own numbers from there.
A worked example
One order from a shop in Germany, run through the calculator's Germany preset. It has two items, so the listing fee is counted per item and the €0.30 once. No discount, and not an Offsite Ads sale. Round numbers, not a typical order.

What is specific to Germany
Payment processing
4% + €0.30 on each order, stated in euros. Etsy sets this by the country of your bank account. The calculator charges the €0.30 once per order, not per item. A US shop pays 3% + $0.25 USD, for comparison. Source: What are payment processing fees.
No regulatory operating fee
Germany is not on Etsy's list of countries that charge it, so the calculator uses 0% and the example has a €0.00 line. If your Etsy statement shows a regulatory fee, type its rate in. Source: What is a regulatory operating fee.
A billing card
Etsy's page on opening a shop mentions a billing card only for Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. Our notes from that page do not say what the card is used for or what it costs, so read it before you open a shop. Source: How to open an Etsy shop.
The rest of the bill
Etsy states these without naming a country, so the calculator uses them for shops in Germany too: a 6.5% transaction fee (Etsy fee basics), a $0.20 USD listing fee (fees and taxes for selling on Etsy) and, only on orders Etsy attributes to its ads off Etsy, an Offsite Ads fee of 15%, or 12% once your shop has made $10,000 USD or more in any consecutive 365 days, never more than $100 USD per order (how Etsy's Offsite Ads work). The main page explains each fee.
Which amounts are in which currency
Euros: the 4% + €0.30 processing fee and every amount in the example. Etsy states the $0.20 listing fee, the $100 Offsite Ads cap and the $10,000 threshold in US dollars only. The listing fee is entered in your shop currency, which is why the €0.20 per item in the example is a placeholder and not Etsy's USD fee converted. No exchange rates here.
Assumptions and sources
- Rates were checked on 2026-11-03 from Etsy's help pages and may change without notice. None of those pages shows an effective date. We read the help pages, not Etsy's formal Fees & Payments Policy, which would not load.
- Sales tax and refunds are excluded.
- Results are estimates. Compare them with your Etsy payment statements.
- Fees are worked out on the order total after your discount. The listing fee is counted once per item sold.
- Not included: the 2.5% currency conversion fee, the shop set-up fee, Etsy Ads, and taxes Etsy withholds from some sellers, such as India's TCS and TDS.
- Etsy states the listing fee and the Offsite Ads cap in USD. The calculator treats them as plain numbers in your shop currency and does no currency conversion, so enter your own amounts.
